Arizona Heart Foundation Board of Trustees Member Profiles

Dr. Kris Vijay (Krishnaswami Vijayaraghavan, MD, MS, FACC, FACP, FNLA, FHFSA) is a heart failure clinical cardiologist with the unique credential in being one of the few cardiorenal metabolic specialists in the US and around the world. He is also a member of the Arizona Heart Foundation Executive Board and the Cardiology Medical Director for School of Ultrasound.

Dr. Vijay’s passion lies in understanding the heart as a cardiologist, and he is passionate about serving the underserved. His previous connections include being a Medical Director for Heart Failure at AZ Heart Institute and Hospital from 1999- 2004 and again from 2016 till 2022. In this role, his mission has been in prevention of risk factors of heart disease and diabetes in underserved population incorporating Diversity Consciousness and Cultural Intelligence
